Dear families, 

As of July 2021, Milagros Boutique will be closed for good.

I have mixed feelings saying goodbye. When I took over the store in 2014, I had a vision of creating a retail space with curated and well-researched baby care products we loved, but that also served as a hub for face-to-face practical and emotional support and baby care education. Over the years we essentially created a doula experience at the counter for our customers, and I’m so proud of the community that came from that. Our families knew we were there for them in any capacity, not just for sales.

Unfortunately, customer buying habits have changed over the years to prefer big brand online marketplaces, and it became clear in 2019 that a brick-and-mortar retail store was not the best way to keep supporting our customers in the way I felt called. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, I was also not able to pivot to my "on the road" in-person babywearing and cloth diapering education.

The pandemic created an increased need to support new parents who were more isolated than ever, so I started to focus more of my attention on virtual support groups through Itsabelly, the doula collective I co-own, and through 1:1 support with new parents as a birth and postpartum doula.

This past year has brought me back to my roots and has solidified where I best love serving families and their babies. I’m grateful for what I’ve learned about myself as owner of Milagros Boutique, and I’m so grateful for the community connections the store has created. I look forward to carrying these things forward in my work as a doula, team leader, and community builder.
