Haven’t had a chance to catch Professor Banjo in action at Milagros? You have one more chance! His last Milagros show is tomorrow (Wednesday, March 16) at 1pm!
In real life he is Paul Silveria but on stage the Professor performs solo banjo in the old time “claw hammer” style. His songs range from up tempo instrumentals and novelty tunes to country blues and moody mountain ballads. Sometimes the Professor dons a special one man band kite with drum, tambourine, kazoo, bell, spoons and more!
$3 suggested donation per walking human for the artist.

Come meet other parents, learn the principles of Positive Discipline, and take home a few new skills to enhance your life with your toddler. New Parent Support Group, Thursday, March 17, 2:30pm: Come weigh your baby, connect with other mothers, ask questions, and get evidence based information about feeding a new baby at our weekly support group! We will offer information and non-judgmental support. This group will be hosted by Karla Nussbaum, IBCLC and Lea Lipscomb, lactation educator.
Portland Mocha Moms Playgroup, Saturday, March 19, 10:00am: Join the Portland Metro Mocha Moms for good conversation and good company. This support group meeting (aka chat and plays) allows moms to discuss important parenting (and personal) issues while the children play! Mocha Moms, is a support group for mothers of color. Mister Hoo of The Alphabeticians, Wednesday, February 23, 11:00am: Mister Hoo (Jeff Inlay), though familiar with the alphabet since childhood, has only grown to love it in recent years. A father of 2 and resident of West Linn, he has been in more bands than he can count (although he claims he can only count to 3), but is most well known for playing in Portland 90’s sensation Hummingfish, and is least well known for his time in Southern California punk band the Mendicant Sauciers.

We always enjoy the Professor (and his “C-H-I-C-K-E-N” song has spurred impromptu spelling bees so his “title” does have some merit). We are proud to feature his debut CD at Milagros! Get it in the store or on-line.

One of our fave family outings is heading to Mississippi Pizza to see Professor Banjo! Who is the good professor?
