    Erica M.

Erica Matteson, retired birth and postpartum doula in the community and previous owner of Santé Mama in Vancouver WA, bought Milagros in 2014 and is carrying on the Milagros legacy of products with an emphasis on wellness for moms, dads and their miracles. With Santé Mama having been a Durable Medical Equipment company specialized in insurance billing for breast pumps, maternity support belts, and lactation center, Erica hopes to expand Milagros services to offer the same trusted experience. She stays late to get all of the business stuff taken care of so she can be on the floor during business hours as much as she can – she loves getting to know all the Milagros families!

When not at work, you’ll find Erica spending time with her goats, of course! What better way to know where the milk in her latte comes from, than by bringing it in from the back yard! Additionally, if you need advice on raising boys, Erica is your gal! Counting the extended family of she and her husband of 21 years, Alaska, the two of them have 7 boys!!!!

Erica’s top 3 parent must-haves: Arms, boobs and body heat! Wait… Were you asking about products? Ha!
    1. A newborn carrier is a must. One that is soft on their little bodies and hold them in a secure hold.
    2. Gown sleepers so you don’t have to mess with snaps and zippers at nighttime diaper changes.
    3. Lots of swaddle blankets. You’ll end up using them for everything from a nursing scarf, sun shade, or burp cloth.

Erica’s favorite item in the boutique: I’m in love with Alfie the big rubber ducky!

Erica’s favorite part about working at Milagros: She loves doing really good work as her bread and butter job. She has a passion for providing Milagros as a resource to new families and for providing an opportunity for employees to grow and learn. The work done together is so heartfelt and, while it is draining sometimes, there is nothing she would rather be doing.

    Courtney V.

Courtney, Administrative Assistant and all around “Girl Friday” at Milagros Boutique, started her journey with Erica in 2013 at Sante Mama and has 6 years in the baby industry. She is their resident certified Car Seat Safety Technician, a 6 year cloth diaper veteran, a compression and Bravado Certified Bra Fitter and has 6 years of babywearing (and counting!).

Courtney had lots of new for 2015 – a new store to work in, a new kindergartner, a new baby! She is eagerly looking forward to continuing to navigate all this new in 2016.

Courtney’s favorite item in the boutique: Artist items. She loves that Milagros supports local artists by selling their items and that you can find some amazing, lovingly handcrafted unique items at Milagros that you won’t find at most other places.

Courtney’s favorite part about working at Milagros: She enjoys creating a place where families can come and feel safe and supported no matter their decisions – a place where knowledge is shared without agendas, emotions are embraced, and people of all parenting styles are treated with respect.

    1. A good swaddle blanket
    2. Teething items – she loves amber and Mama Wear teethers

    Haley N.

Haley joined the Milagros team in September of 2015. When she isn’t helping customers at the store, she enjoys baking, binge watching Netflix on rainy afternoons, and day trips to the beach with her family.

    Haley’s top 3 parent must-haves:
    1. Babywearing is my answer to everything, so a carrier is an absolute must!
    2. A good diaper cream/salve is perfect not only for keeping diaper rashes at bay but to treat numerous other baby skin issues such as baby acne, drool rash, and eczema.
    3. Prefold cloth diapers are a great cloth diaper option and work fabulously as burp cloths, tummy time drool catchers, and loveys.

Haley’s favorite item in the boutique: Any and all of our carriers!

Haley’s favorite part about working at Milagros: Working at a store catering to mamas and their babies is amazing – she loves being able to help and learn from other parents and caregivers. Also, she thinks being able to bring her son to work with her is truly the most amazing thing ever!
