Nursing Mothers Counsel Breastfeeding Preparation Class, Thursday, January 26, 6:00pm: Breastfeeding is the most natural and healthy way to feed your baby, but it does not always come naturally. This free support class at Milagros provides guidance on how to initiate a successful breastfeeding relationship, ensuring a proper latch, how often to breastfeed, how to address common problems or concerns, and much more.  This class taught by the good people at Nursing Mothers Counsel is a casual setting to get your questions answered. Get Crafty! Handmade gifts are never anything less than unique and are always made with that secret ingredient L-O-V-E. Here are a few crafty ideas for folks short on time.

Give an experience! Sometime we get caught up in what can be unwrapped and enjoyed – right now! Or we can’t decide and default to a gift certificate (which is still cool, we sell them and so do most local stores). But how about something that can be redeemed after the holidays that is memorable and unique? Like some show tickets or a homemade coupon promising a hike or a special homemade dinner or other outing? There is really no limit to the experiences you can give.

Give the Gift of Giving! We often give gifts of hope in the names of our loved ones. These are gifts that will have an impact much greater and longer than any traditional gift. The youthful innocence in Veirs’ voice lends itself well to the jaunty spirit of the album, a collection of American folk songs. She and renown record-producer Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, My Morning Jacket, Sufjan Stevens), her long-time collaborator on seven of her eight records, have created a piece of art that is sure to appeal to children as well as adult fans of Veirs’ previous work.
