New Parents Infant CPR Class at Milagros
When: Tuesday, February 9th 2010 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Join Red Cross instructor Art Graves for this special CPR and first aid class that is designed for new parents. This class will provided hands-on instruction on what to do if your infant or child is choking, rescue breathing, basic CPR and First Aid. You are welcome to bring your baby with you to this class.
Class fee is $25 and registration is required. To register contact Shelley or Carolina at the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Red Cross at 503.280.1440 and let them know they are registering for the “New Parents” class at Milagros.
Please note: No certification is provided as part of this class.

Rookie Rock Class - Sound Roots at Milagros

Sound Roots’ Rookie Rock is a fun and upbeat musical environment for both parents and their babies or preschool age kids. We sing and play along with modern music of all genres that adults can enjoy and children can embrace.
The teacher for this class will lead songs, teach simple to more advanced rhythm lessons, introduce instruments, and give basic theory lessons at age appropriate levels. A large variety of kid sized instruments will be available throughout the class so that children can explore what they find most intriguing.
If you love the idea of taking a music class with your young child, but are feeling just a little more “rock ‘n roll” than of 47 versions of Old MacDonald, this is the class for you! Sharing the joy of music with your kids is one of the most precious gift you can give them. We can help make this easy and fun – for both of you!

This performance/workshop is designed to have the participants create their own shadow puppet play. Using simple materials, children are encouraged to let their creativity and imagination run rampant as they are in control of what happens in the story. You will be floored by the performances your kids and their friends will create.

Diaper Free Meeting at Milagros

Diaper Free Baby Meetings are at Milagros on the third Wednesday of the month, 2 pm – 3 pm.
Diaper Free Baby of Portland is a local, free support group that helps promote a natural approach to responding to babies’ elimination needs. This practice is followed worldwide and is known as Elimination Communication, Natural Infant Hygiene, and Infant Potty Training. The process involves observing one’s baby’s signs and signals, providing cue sounds and elimination-place associations, and can be done with or without any diaper use.
