In real life he is Paul Silveria but on stage the Professor performs solo banjo in the old time “claw hammer” style. His songs range from up tempo instrumentals and novelty tunes to country blues and moody mountain ballads. Sometimes the Professor dons a special one man band kite with drum, tambourine, kazoo, bell, spoons and more!
We always enjoy the Professor (and his “C-H-I-C-K-E-N” song has spurred impromptu spelling bees so his “title” does have some merit). We are proud to feature his debut CD at Milagros! Get it in the store or on-line.
Professor Banjo is at Milagros on Monday at 11am, come join the fun!
$3 suggested donation per walking human for the artist.

Matt Clark CD Release Party, Saturday, August 28, 1:00pm: Local dad and musician Matt Clark will be performing at Milagros to kick-off his upcoming follow-up to his Funny Little Fella album.
They have been playing music together for over 25 years, and are veterans of the Portland music scene. Together they play mostly original, upbeat, family appropriate songs, including songs about numbers, size, dads, metaphors, extinct fish and multiple alphabet songs…
Two guitars, two voices, a toy piano, some random percussion devices, what could possibly go wrong?
Catch The Alphabeticians at Milagros on Thursday, July 8, 10:30am. $3 suggested donation per walking human for the artists.
One of our fave family outings is heading to Mississippi Pizza to see Professor Banjo! Who is the good professor?

The Professor is tied up this summer but we hope to host him in the Milagros family room in the not too distant future. So more to come!
We really enjoyed Local musician Matt Clark’s CD of music for kids called “Funny Little Fella”.
Matt’s inspiration for the songs was the first year of his son’s life. As such, the songs focus on a baby’s first year from a baby’s point of view (without being annoying, a difficult feat that Matt pulls off). Song titles such as “Why Do I Need Teeth?” and “I Think I am Gonna Put it in My Mouth” sum up what is in store. Now Matt is fundraising for his follow-up via Kickstarter.
