It is crazy, oppressive, heat bouncing off the sidewalk, swoon and faint hot out there. If you head out, be sure to bring a water bottle and a portable AC unit with a really long extension cord…
Now, if you need to get out of whatever cool bunker you are hiding in and don’t want to pay big bucks to see some less than stellar blockbuster with the kids or wander around aimlessly at the Mall…Consider hitting one of the public pools, wading pools, and/or parks with super cool spraygrounds (playgrounds with water features, get it?). Here is a list of Portland Parks that fit the bill (we love us some Jamison Park Fountain time on days like this, of course).
Other ideas? Hit the beach on Sauvie Island or Broughton Beach, head out east to Blue Lake Park. But whatever you do, keep cool!
