Summer To-Do List?

Posted June 27th, 2009 in Milagros News

Here are a few things we are looking forward to this summer (many of which have become summer traditions for us):

  • Fruit picking! Peaches, blueberries, and cherries at local farms. Raspberries in our backyard and blackberries in the wild.
  • Pickathon! This weekend festival has a wonderful mix of musical acts and other activities – including tons of things for the kids – in a delightful farm setting only 30 minutes from Portland but a world away.
  • Biking! At Sunday Parkways and all over town. Love cruising the Eastbank Esplanade and Springwater Corridor.
  • Car-free Last Thursday on Alberta! No cars during the summer months means more room, more activities and more fun!
  • Sauvie Island! We pick fruit at the farms, blackberries in the wild, chill at the beach, kayak on the lakes, and hike…a wonderful escape that is only a short drive from Portland.
  • Summer Concerts at Fernhill Park and other Parks! We love to listen to music, enjoy a picnic, and meet new folks at these free and very family friendly concerts.
  • Jamison Park! Cooling our toes and more at the fountain at Jamison Park is always a summer highlight.

And of course, we love to hike and camp during the summer – the more the better! So there are some of our summer plans, love to hear your ideas as well! But no matter what you do, have a great summer!
