Boeing PDX Application to Increase Emissions Community Meeting
A community meeting in response to Boeing PDX’s permit application to DEQ is scheduled for Monday, October 15th at 7pm at NECN, 4815 NE 7th Ave.
Boeing paints aircraft at a facility located next to Portland International Airport, and the process releases Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) into the air from paints and cleaning solvents. The company applied to have the 39 ton VOC limit to be increased to 99 tons per year. The purpose of the meeting is to gather neighborhood support in advance of the DEQ public process (no dates are available at this time) and to look into reviewing technical research. Several Cully and Concordia neighborhood residents and other groups attended an informational meeting at DEQ on September 20th.
