Burdy Fly Away Organics

Posted October 13th, 2007 in clothing

About a month ago we ran into local mama Katie Raetz at the Alberta Street Fair. She was displaying her burdy fly away shirts. The creation of these shirts spawned out of her need for a creative outlet while staying home and raising her two amazing boys.

Katie’s onesies and tees are 100 percent organic cotton. The shirts are fair trade as well.

She hand dyes each piece which results in some vibrant colors and provides a uniqueness to each shirt, no two are the same. Then she embroiders fun elements – -trees, robots, birds and more – using recycled and new materials. Fun statements – i heart trees – are sometimes hand screened onto the piece as well.

The result? A wonderful, unique, wearable art piece for your little miracle.
